Welcome to The Wee Pottery
The Wee Pottery is a paint it yourself studio based at the Johnston Centre in Kirkcudbright, at the former Johnston School. The studio itself can seat up to 22 people and is an ideal idea for children’s parties, groups, get together or to simply drop by and paint something unique as a keepsake or a gift to give to someone else.
There is a studio fee of £3.50 (including non painters) and all the pottery is individually priced. Help yourself to tea and coffee, and we will serve you a sweet treat while you paint.
We're open over the weekend Thursday - Monday from 10am to 4.30pm, closed between 1pm and 2pm.
Pottery Painting
- Call ahead to make a booking to visit the pottery studio
- Come and choose from our large variety of pottery available (£3.50 studio fee)
- Take a look at our ideas book before choosing your brushes, tools and colours
- Enjoy painting your pottery (two hour session), with free tea, coffee and a sweet treat
- Leave your pottery to be glazed and fired
- Your creations will be ready to collect in 4-7 days
Clay hand & foot imprints
- Call ahead to make a booking to visit the pottery studio
- When you have arrived the raw clay will be rolled out
- Your child's hand and/or foot will be imprinted into the clay by a member of staff
- Choose a colour finish, and decide whether you would like your imprint framed
- Leave your clay imprint to be processed, glazed and fired
- Your imprints will be ready for collection in 4-6 weeks time
